For every two families that need a home there is one property standing empty. This isn't just inefficient it's unjust

Appealing Decisions
Earlier today I spoke to Colin England. Not a name you may know, but he was the guy who appealed against Bexley council’s refusal to issue a list of empty homes. The case, which we reported here, seems to have created a few waves with a dozen local authorities contacting us asking what they should do now. Release the Information is our advice. Kent local authorities have got the message as this page on their excellent new website shows. Predictably Bexley council have appealed against the information commissioner’s decision, but interestingly so has Mr England. It doesn’t go far enough in his view, he wants the list of owner’s addresses too. If recent cases are anything to go by we might have to wait quite a while for a decision on the appeals.
